Using of wildcard *
The wildcard character* tells the search engine that any text can occur in that position. Therefore a wildcard search may find more results.

(a) Exact Structure Search
Finds only the exact chemical compound you have drawn, with no substituent at any position. Isotopicvarients and stereoisomers are also found.
(b) Substructure Search
Finds all the compounds that contain the substructure which is the scaffold or partial structure you have drawn. Notes: searches for common substructures may return too many results (i.e. hundreds of thousands). In that case, you may want to make your structure more specific.
