In March 2021, Russian's chemical production increased by 5.4% year-on-year. The production of basic chemicals increased by 6.7% year-on-year.

According to data from the Russian Federal State Statistics Service, mineral fertilizers accounted for the largest proportion of the production increase from January to March. Benzene production increased from 113,000 tons a month ago to 121,000 tons in March.

The total output of this product reached 362,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.2%.

Sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) produced in March was 118,000 tons (100% basic substance), compared with 98,400 tons a month ago. In the first three months of this year, the total output of caustic soda reached 329,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7%.image.png

In March 2021, 2.327 million tons of mineral fertilizers were produced, compared with 2.098 million tons in the previous month. All in all, the Russian plant produced approximately 6.743 million tons of fertilizer in January-March 2021, an increase of 12% year-on-year.

Last month's production of primary polymers was 958,000 tons, compared with 861,000 tons in February.

During the aforementioned period, the total production of primary polymers was 2.74 million tons, an increase of 8.5% year-on-year.

Synthetic rubber production in March was 151,000 tons, compared with 141,000 tons in the previous month.

In short, the Russian plant produced approximately 447,000 tons of synthetic rubber in January-March this year, an increase of 10.2% year-on-year.
